FG denies Boko Haram has killed Dapchi schoolgirl Leah Sharibu

Information minister Lai Mohammed has denied reports that Leah Sharibu, the only Dapchi schoolgirl still left in Boko Haram captivity, has died

A statement from the minister quoted him as saying at a press briefing in Ilorin, Kwara state, on Sunday, February 10 that “It’s absolutely fake news. There is nothing like that

– Lai Mohammed accused the opposition of making up the false report to cause fight between the two largest religions in the country

The federal government of Nigeria has denied reports making the rounds that Leah Sharibu, last of the Dapchi schoolgirls recently abducted by Boko Haram insurgents, has been killed by her abductors.

The denial was issued by information minister Lai Mohammed on Sunday, February 10 in a statement sent to galantmedia.ng

Mohammed said the reports claiming Sharibu was dead is “absolute fake news”. The minister went on to accuse the opposition of wanting to score a cheap political point with the false reports.
