DOUBLEKNOCK INTERVIEW: – My Love For Music Started In My Mother’s Womb

Posted By:  on  May 1, 2019

DoubleKnock , one of Nigeria’s talented afro-pop uprising artist granted an Interview with Galantmedia TV where he revealed how he started and how his love for music began

The singer also made it clear that lack of sponsorship as been one of the biggest challenge upcoming artists faces in Nigeria’s music industry, the interactive session of the interview with DoubleKnock was completed as follows;

WHO IS DOUBLEKNOCK?

What’s your stage name

my stage name is Doubleknock

When, where and How did you start music?

My love for music started in my mother’s womb, hahahahaha. In my primary school days 2face Idibia’s songs everywhere and i would sing all his tracks without making mistakes. Some of my friends loved me so much because I always sing. In my secondary school days in Warri Delta State, I started visiting studios one after another, from then, I recorded my first song “Ashiawo”.

Are you signed to any record label?
no, no not yet

Which instruments do you play?
i
play guitar

What was the first tune(s) you learned? And which genre do you prefer?

The first tune I learned was “Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do”, and how to “Sing On Key”. My preferred genre is Afro

What difference are you making in the music industry?

The difference is all my song you must have something to learn from, they are very touching and mind blowing. Get any of my songs online listen to it and u will play it repeatedly.

How do you balance your music with other obligations like school & job?

Music is my first option other obligations follow. Meaning if music activity fall same time same day with other of my obligations, I go for music activity and postponed the other.

Have you been in competitions? Concerts, radio, TV?

Music, concert, radio and T.V are competition themselves, you can’t do without it. I face it often, if l lose I don’t lose the lessons and if I win, I thank God for Talent

Have you won music award since when you started

Yeah, I have won IBOM ENTERTAINMENT GISTIME AWARD as the best Afro Artist

Woah, It means you also perform in public right?

Of course, why am I an Artist? I do this often

Are your songs also the regular “commercial” music recommended in Nigeria?

Yes o. Kudos to Afro

What influence your lyrics or what inspires you to write songs?

I’am influenced and inspired by the environment or any mode I found myself in

Whats the Title of your Song trending now on air and when did you released it?

GOT NO RIGHT is highly trending right now. I have received lots of good comments from my fans they so love it. Download and feel the vibes yourself. It was released April 20th, 2019

Whats the biggest problem you’ve had and challenges to overcome so far?’

It’s a problem of sponsors. They are not easy to come by. You come across some people who would make you believed they will but end up disappointing you. They are not the right ones. To overcome these challenges, just keep pushing and the right ones will surely come, when they come, fight to become the best, for those who think you can not blow, prove them wrong, keep going…

‘What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

Travelling. I love travelling so much. Music as a career is right for me because travelling round the world was part of my biggest dreams and music as a journey has given it to me

What do you hate most?’

Distractions

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?’

Easy road for everyone with the real talent

With the little fame youve gotten already, how do you treat your female fans

Equal love for them all. I allow them to touch me, hold me, hug me, take selfie with me and all of that. They are very supportive sexy ladies and as you know you can never have them all so you just chose one, the lucky one, hahahahaa.

Hahaha!!! Tell Us How will you feel when you become more popular

Cool, very cool. It’s a dream of every Artist to become more popular, so, if God does it for you be humble.

What’s the most memorable thing a female fan once did to you?

Hahahahaa, you just remind me of the day i jumped from stage into the crowd of thousands and one female fans from behind just grabbed my dick and screamed aloud “I love it, I love it Doubleknock give it to me right here”. Infact, It was funny and at the same time wasn’t funny because I became so afraid if my dick was still intact

Haha, What An Expensive Joke, Alright, Which famous musician do you admire? And what have you learned from him/her?

Infact, let me start by saying l admire those who are consistent and still maintain such standard for years such as Davido.

Which record label will you love to be sign-in

Permit me to mention three: Dmw, Marvins Record, Starboy Entertainment…

How far do you plan to take your career?

Worldwide. I deserve some accolades right? Hahahahahaaa

Well, Yes Ofcourse, What can you say about new music that lacks messages going viral on air

First is to discover yourself, second is to know what works for you and go for it. And as you can see, it really works for them, if it did not they wouldn’t continue.

Many young artistes have made it and lost. What are your plans to avoid the same mistakes

To make it and lost it does not only happen in the music industry alone. I have seen someone opened a filling Station and closed down within a short period of time. But what I can say is that, if you don’t want to be a victim of all these shits, there is always a way to continue. Everything that seems like not working has solutions.

What’s the passion that’ keeps you doing music?

I love expressing out my feelings through singing. It makes me always happy. Singing is a platform passing out messages that changes the life of people. So, when I look at the environment and its surroundings I feel like changing More lives and as a result I become more passionate doing music

What advice would you give to beginners willing to become an artist

If you are a beginner you have to be very very prayerful, have tolerance, patience just keep pushing you don’t have to quit because of some challenges that may come your way just allow those challenges to make you stronger nothing good comes easy.

thank you Galantmedia
