Arsenal and Man Utd on red alert as Inter Milan prepare to cash in on star duo
Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs who have been place on red alert as Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic plot their Inter Milan exits.
Striker Icardi has had a high profile falling out with the Italian club over a new contract.
The Argentine has placed himself in a self-imposed exile after he the captaincy was ripped away from him and given to keeper Samir Handanovic.
Icardi hasn’t played since March 9 – having previously netted 16 times in 30 games.
United are currently leading the race to sign Icardi, although the likes of Real Madrid are also sniffing around, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter are hoping to replace Icardi with Romelu Lukaku – but after the Belgian netted six goals in three games earlier this months, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has changed his mind about letting him move.
That would also pour cold water on a swap deal, with Icardi valued at around £90million.
Midfielder Perisic has been a long term target for Premier League clubs with United and now the Gunners, with Atletico Madrid are also ready to pump cash at a potential transfer.
Inter would request a fee of between £30m and £35m for Croatian Perisic.
The 30-year-old has seven goals for the Italians this season in 34 appearances but has found himself looking for a move away from the Serie A.
The Premier League is thought to be his preferred destination, and was said to be distraught when the Gunners failed to secure a January move, but the self-imposed financial restrictions at Arsenal could give Atleti room to convince him to join them instead.
Inter are also planning to sack manager Luciano Spalletti after a disappointing campaign – which saw the club dumped out of the Europa League by Frankfurt earlier this week.
The are currently fourth in the Italian table.
